"Health System Under Fire": 30 Killed in Attacks on Hospitals in Kordofan Amid Global Outcry Over Sudan’s War Crimes

The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed a devastating escalation in Sudan on Sunday, reporting that three health facilities in South Kordofan were attacked within a week, leaving over 30 people dead. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the targeting of a healthcare system already crippled by acute malnutrition. This humanitarian collapse is being fueled by a surge in drone strikes and attacks on aid convoys, drawing sharp condemnation from Saudi Arabia, the Arab League, and Turkey.

The violence reached a horrific peak on Saturday when an RSF drone targeted a vehicle carrying displaced civilians near Al-Rahad, killing 24 people, including 8 children. As the war nears its third anniversary, the Kordofan region has become a strategic "death zone" for aid organizations like the WFP. With the country split between RSF-held Darfur and the Army-controlled North and East, civilians are facing a dual threat of systematic starvation and indiscriminate aerial warfare.
