The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a formal statement on Thursday confirming a series of targeted airstrikes against Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and training sites across various regions in Lebanon. The operations mark a significant escalation in the ongoing friction, with the IDF citing a direct breach of established understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

Neutralization of Training Camps and Launching Sites According to the official communique, the strikes successfully destroyed a major military camp utilized by Hezbollah for elite cadre training and operational qualification. The targeted facility housed rocket launchers, artillery fire control centers, and specialized ranges for weapons training. The IDF emphasized that these sites were instrumental in preparing operatives for planned attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel.
Strategic Strikes in Deep Lebanese Territory Beyond the immediate border areas, the Israeli military extended its operations into the "depth of Lebanon," targeting military buildings repurposed as armories. These sites were reportedly used for storing advanced combat equipment and served as hubs for Hezbollah activities in recent weeks.
Breach of Understandings and Security Concerns The IDF underscored that the presence and expansion of such "terrorist infrastructure" represent a clear violation of diplomatic and security understandings. The statement concluded by reaffirming that Israel views Hezbollah’s persistent military build-up as an existential threat, justifying continued operations to safeguard its national sovereignty.
