A senior Lebanese ministerial source revealed on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, that Israel is expanding its military footprint beyond the Litani River, aiming to occupy approximately 10% of Lebanon's southern border. The source noted that Lebanon is now entirely tied to the outcome of US-Iran negotiations currently hosted by Pakistan, lamenting that "Tehran is negotiating on behalf of Lebanon".

The Ambassador Standoff & Displacement Crisis:
Regarding the diplomatic rift, the source confirmed that Iranian Ambassador Mohammad-Reza Shibani has officially lost his diplomatic immunity after refusing to leave Beirut, stating the government now views him as an "ordinary citizen."
