Israel: Release of Our Hostages First, Then the Prisoners – Implementation of the Prisoner Swap Agreement with Hamas

In an unprecedented political and security scene, negotiations for the exchange of prisoners and hostages between Israel and Hamas are entering a decisive implementation phase, with regional and international anticipation at its peak.

إسرائيل: الإفراج عن رهائننا أولا ثم إطلاق سراح المعتقلين – لحظة تنفيذ اتفاق تبادل الأسرى مع حماس

Israel has officially declared it will begin releasing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners as soon as all its living hostages held in Gaza are confirmed to have returned to Israeli territory. This process is set to commence on the morning of the upcoming Monday, marking the first step in an agreement reached after intense international mediation.

According to a spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, the actual release of Palestinian detainees is contingent upon the arrival of twenty freed Israeli hostages alive, in addition to receiving the bodies of twenty-eight others who died during captivity.

Meanwhile, sources from Hamas have indicated the exchange process will proceed as planned on Monday morning, involving about forty-eight hostages, both living and deceased—mostly Israelis—with no new developments or alterations to the timing or outlined conditions.

The agreement stipulates that immediately following the hostages’ return, Israel will release approximately two thousand Palestinian detainees from its prisons. This is seen as a major turning point in the ongoing crisis, putting the issue of detainees and public opinion in the region under the spotlight of new developments.

This defining moment unfolds within a comprehensive ceasefire agreement brokered by the U.S., as all parties remain vigilant for any shifts in the process or accompanying political rhetoric.
