Israeli Defense Minister: Response to Iran Will Be Devastating and Surprising

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant vowed on Wednesday to launch a devastating and surprising strike against Iran after Tehran fired a ballistic missile at an Israeli target on October 1.

“The Iranian attack was aggressive but not precise. Our attack, on the contrary, was deadly, precise and, above all, unexpected,” Galant said during a visit to the Intelligence Ministry.

He explained that there is a coordination process “through the chain of command, from the soldiers to the chief of staff, the defense minister and the prime minister, who are coordinated and specific on this issue.”


The American website “Axios” reported on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene a meeting of the security cabinet on Thursday to vote on “a major military action against Iran.”


The website quoted an Israeli official as saying, “The response is expected to be major and will combine airstrikes against Iranian military sites and covert attacks such as the one that killed Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.”
