Israeli Forces Open Heavy Fire on Northern Rafah, Humanitarian Situation Worsens Due to Israeli Restrictions

Palestinian media, citing Al-Qahera News Channel, reported that Israeli occupation forces are opening heavy fire in the northern Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip.

This military escalation occurs simultaneously with the ongoing severe humanitarian conditions in the Strip.

The Continually Deteriorating Humanitarian Situation:

• Severe Conditions: Adnan Abu Hasna, spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), confirmed that the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains extremely difficult, despite nearly two months passing since the ceasefire agreement.

• Aid Restrictions: Abu Hasna explained that the increase in the number of trucks entering the Strip does not reflect a real improvement in residents' lives due to Israeli restrictions on the type of materials allowed entry.

• Banning Essential Items: Israel continues to prevent the entry of hundreds of essential items, including:

  • Spare parts for sewage and desalination plants.

  • Medical equipment and medicines.

  • Key food commodities.

• Malnutrition: These restrictions mean that the improvement is not felt by the Strip's population, the majority of whom suffer from malnutrition.
