The photos published by Israeli media show a large number of Israeli soldiers surrounding Yahya Sinwar's body inside the Tel al-Sultan building in Rafah.

Sources confirmed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed during an Israeli military operation in Rafah.

According to military sources, the building where Sinwar was staying was surrounded and a military vest filled with hand grenades was found on his body.

Israeli Channel 14 reported that Israeli forces found Sinwar's body in Tel al-Sultan in Rafah.

According to the Israeli army, a drone was sent to the site of a building in the Tel al-Sultan area in Rafah, and what appeared to be Sinwar's body was identified before the soldiers arrived there, and before DNA tests were conducted by an investigator who had previously interrogated Sinwar when he was detained in Israel. They were brought in to identify the remains.

DNA and dental tests were conducted on the body and came back positive, according to military sources.

Israel assassinated Hamas military division commander Mohammed Deif and Khan Yunis brigade commander Rafi Salama in airstrikes on Gaza in July, and Hamas deputy political bureau chief Saleh al-Arouri in airstrikes on Beirut in January.

Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in July, but Israel has yet to claim responsibility.
