The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) have officially begun training specialized engineering and medical units for a potential deployment to the Gaza Strip. Army Chief of Staff Maruli Simanjuntak confirmed that the military is preparing brigades—potentially totaling 5,000 to 8,000 troops—as part of the international "Peace Council" initiated by President Donald Trump. This move follows strategic orders from President Prabowo Subianto, who previously expressed readiness to deploy up to 20,000 personnel.

Sources indicate that these troops will focus on monitoring ceasefire lines rather than engaging in direct combat or disarmament. "Field cells" for Indonesian soldiers are reportedly already being prepared between Rafah and Khan Younis. The final timeline is expected to be finalized during Subianto’s upcoming visit to Washington, marking a significant shift as Islamic nations take a direct role in Gaza’s post-war security architecture.
