Japan issued a tsunami warning on Sunday following a magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck an area in the northern Pacific Ocean.

Location: The earthquake occurred offshore the Iwate Prefecture in Japan.
Warning: The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a warning for a potential tsunami with waves expected to reach up to one meter in height.
Observation: The Japanese broadcast authority reported that a tsunami wave was detected 70 kilometers off the Iwate coast and was expected to reach the Pacific coastal strip soon.
