What is an Aneurysm?

  • Definition and Risk: An aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel in the brain. According to the UK's National Health Service (NHS), if it ruptures, it can cause severe, life-threatening internal bleeding.

  • Treatment: Doctors are monitoring this type of aneurysm through regular check-ups instead of immediate surgery.

  • Statistics: Approximately 30,000 people suffer a ruptured aneurysm annually worldwide. 500,000 deaths per year are linked to aneurysms, with half of the victims being under the age of 50.
