In a swift escalation following the U.S.-led peace negotiations in Miami, Russia launched a massive aerial assault on Ukraine’s energy sector this Tuesday. The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported widespread blackouts in the capital, Kyiv, and surrounding regions. As air defense units engaged targets over the city, military authorities urged residents to remain in shelters until further notice.

The intensity of the strikes near the western border triggered a high-alert response from Poland. The Polish Armed Forces scrambled domestic and allied fighter jets, placing radar reconnaissance and ground-based air defense systems on maximum readiness. Warsaw described these maneuvers as "precautionary measures" to safeguard NATO airspace against potential spillover from the Russian strikes on western Ukrainian territories.
