Lavrov's Explosive Warning: Europe Openly Preparing for a New Major War Against Russia and Undermining Peace Efforts

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a direct and strongly worded warning on Wednesday, asserting that the European continent is taking actual and open steps to prepare and get ready for a "new major European war against Russia." Simultaneously, Lavrov directed a direct call to the United States of America for the necessity of refraining from taking any steps or actions that could escalate the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Europe and the "Madness of Russophobia": Undermining Peace and Rejecting Dialogue

In an extensive interview, Lavrov pointed the finger of accusation at Europe, stating that European parties are "sabotaging all peace-making efforts, and rejecting direct contacts with Moscow." The Russian minister added that European measures are not limited to rejecting dialogue but extend to "imposing new sanctions that further backfire on their economies," confirming that these collective behaviors fall under the umbrella of war preparation. Lavrov described the European stance rejecting communication as the "madness of Russophobia," asserting that "there is no other way to describe that."

Regarding the possibility of resuming dialogue, Lavrov confirmed that Moscow is ready to resume contacts with Europe, but only "when the madness of Russophobia ends."

Praise for Trump and a Call to Washington

On the relations front with Washington, the TASS news agency quoted Lavrov praising former US President Donald Trump. Lavrov noted that Trump "always called for dialogue with Russia" and sought a full understanding of the Russian position on Ukraine, as he "showed a commitment to finding a sustainable peaceful solution."

In a related context, the Russian Minister affirmed that Trump acknowledged that one of the main reasons behind the Russian campaign in Ukraine was the expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the deployment of its infrastructure close to the Russian borders. Lavrov stated that this position is "in essence what Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia have been warning about for the past twenty years."

Concluding his message to the current US administration, Lavrov stated: "We seek the prevalence of common sense and adherence to this position in Washington, and that they refrain from any actions that could escalate the conflict to a new level." The Russian Minister concluded that Europe appears "determined to undermine American moves to find a peaceful solution."
