Lebanese army reveals killing of two of its soldiers in Israeli targeting

The Lebanese army announced today, Friday, that two of its soldiers were killed in an Israeli attack on one of its centers in the south of the country, one week after two other soldiers were killed by Israeli fire in the south.

The army said in a statement that Israel targeted a military site in the town of Kafra in southern Lebanon, killing two people and wounding three.


For his part, Najib Mikati, the caretaker prime minister of Lebanon, condemned the Israeli attack that targeted military sites in the town of Kafra.


He said, "What is required is the position of the global conscience to put an end to this aggression."


Mikati called the army commander, Joseph Aoun, to express his condolences over the death of the two soldiers and his wishes for the recovery of the wounded.
