Lebanon: Aoun Receives Egyptian General Intelligence Chief as Egypt Offers Stability Aid

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received the Director of Egyptian General Intelligence, Minister Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, accompanied by a delegation, at the Baabda Palace on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting was attended by the Director General of General Security, Major General Hassan Shqair, and the Director of Army Intelligence, Brigadier General Antoine Kahwaji.

Meeting Highlights and Egyptian Role
Greetings and Support: At the outset of the meeting, Minister Rashad conveyed the greetings of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to President Aoun and his wishes for Aoun's success in leading Lebanon towards stability.
Discussion of Regional Situation: The general situation in the region, particularly in Southern Lebanon and the situation in Gaza, was discussed during the meeting.
Egyptian Offer of Assistance: Minister Rashad expressed his country's readiness to help stabilize the South and end security unrest, reaffirming Egypt's continuous support for Lebanon.
Aoun's Welcome: For his part, President Aoun conveyed his greetings to President el-Sisi via Rashad, thanking Egypt for its sustained support in various fields and welcoming any Egyptian effort that could contribute to halting Israeli aggression and restoring stability to the country.
