French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the deployment of French troops to Greenland at Denmark’s request, openly challenging President Donald Trump’s renewed threats to bring the Arctic island under U.S. control. Macron stated that the French forces will join Germany, Sweden, and Norway in "Operation Polar Resilience," a joint military exercise aimed at bolstering Denmark’s security in the region.

The move follows Trump’s recent declaration on Truth Social that Greenland must be "in the hands of the United States." Macron responded by warning that any challenge to the sovereignty of a European ally would lead to "unprecedented consequences." While Berlin described its involvement as a "reconnaissance" mission, the collective European deployment signals a firm unified front against Washington's territorial ambitions in the strategic Arctic territory.
