Iran is considering completely halting uranium enrichment, signaling a potential shift in Tehran's stance towards adopting a compromise in the nuclear dispute with the West.

Decision Details and Economic Situation
Study to Halt: The Etemad newspaper quoted government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani as saying, "Uranium enrichment is not currently being carried out, and the possibility of completely halting the enrichment process is being studied, in line with national interests."
Evaluating Bodies: The spokeswoman indicated that the bodies assessing the matter—the country's Atomic Energy Organization, the Foreign Ministry, and the Supreme National Security Council—will decide what is best for the country.
Offer to Negotiate: Local media quoted a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Kamal Kharrazi, as saying that Tehran would be prepared to resume nuclear talks with US President Donald Trump's administration and would also be prepared to negotiate a reduction in the level of enrichment.
Economic Crisis and Political Solution
This potential shift comes amid a "historic" economic crisis in Iran, primarily resulting from international sanctions linked to the nuclear dispute.
Crisis Indicators: The national currency (the Rial) is suffering an almost daily decrease in value, amidst an unprecedented surge in inflation.
Observers' Concerns: Some observers and political figures in Iran believe that Tehran's insistence on continuing its nuclear projects does not align with national interests and could lead to economic collapse and potential social unrest.
Sole Option: These observers view a political solution to the nuclear dispute as the only option to avert collapse.
