The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will become the central tool in future wars. Speaking on Wednesday during a visit to service members at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, she said: "Technology is changing the art of warfare, and Artificial Intelligence is expected to change wars more profoundly than any technology since nuclear weapons."

The Role of AI in Warfare
Deeper than Nuclear: Melania Trump continued: "The biggest change will be in speed: the speed of the weapon, the speed of decision-making, the speed of detection, and the speed of attack and defense."
Center Stage: She stressed that AI "will become the center of the war theatre, it is already playing an important role on the battlefield," noting that the transition from human operators to "supervisors" and from soldiers to machines may have already begun.
Human Element: Despite this shift, Melania affirmed that "Marines will still be the most important element in achieving success in any mission."
Context of the Visit
Melania Trump's visit to the armed forces and their families, which also included the Vice President's wife and Osha Vance, took place ahead of the holiday season and included speeches and meeting with the military children attending school.
