JERUSALEM, March (Xinhua) -- A man was killed and another severely injured when a rocket from Lebanon hit the city of Nahariya in northern Israel on Thursday afternoon, according to Israel's Magen David Adom ambulance service.

Israel said the attack was the most recent of dozens of rockets and several drones fired by Hezbollah since the morning hours.

Hezbollah entered the confrontation on March 2 by launching rockets from southern Lebanon toward Israel for the first time since a ceasefire on Nov. 27, 2024, prompting Israel to carry out an intensified military campaign targeting multiple areas across the country.
