Netanyahu: I Never Considered Qatar an Ally, Only a Mediator to Be Used

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated today that he has never considered Qatar an ally of Israel or a neutral party in the war against the Palestinian group "Hamas." He sees Qatar merely as a mediator that could be used for negotiations for a temporary period.

During a press conference, Netanyahu justified the Israeli airstrike that targeted Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha, saying the "operation to assassinate Hamas leaders in Doha is completely justified." He added that those leaders "bear direct responsibility for the massacre on October 7 and for managing the war against Israel."
