In a remarkable speech before the Knesset and in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed deep appreciation, describing Trump as the best friend Israel has ever had. The address took place amid a fervent atmosphere of gratitude following the release of Israeli hostages, thanks to Trump’s pivotal mediation efforts.

Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to achieving peace based on Trump’s vision, emphasizing that the time had come for a new chapter—one that leaves war behind and opens doors to regional stability. He explained that, with Trump’s leadership, Israel managed to eliminate the threat posed by Hamas by dismantling its military structure and targeting the masterminds behind the October 7 attacks.
Netanyahu also highlighted Trump’s achievements in curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and supporting military operations against Iranian threats. He evoked powerful stories, including that of an Israeli-American soldier who lost his comrades and suffered life-altering injuries in a Hamas ambush, and an Israeli mother whose children were killed in the conflict—pointing out that such sacrifices reinforce the determination to end the cycle of violence.
Looking ahead, Netanyahu stated that Israel now seeks to expand the circle of peace by striking new accords with Arab and Muslim nations, asserting that the Abraham Accords would not have been possible without Trump’s trust and support. He concluded by thanking Trump for inviting him to the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, noting he declined only because of an upcoming Jewish holiday. Netanyahu underscored that the march toward peace will continue with unwavering resolve and international backing.
