New Book Reveals the Depths of the Special Relationship Between Trump and Putin During His Presidency

American author Bob Woodward has released a new book called “War,” which sheds light on the special relationship that developed between former US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin during his presidency.

كتاب جديد يكشف عمق العلاقة الخاصة بين ترامب وبوتين خلال فترة رئاسته

The book reveals previously unknown details about a series of unannounced meetings and conversations that took place between the two leaders, which went beyond the usual official and diplomatic protocols. The book indicates that this relationship was deeper and more complex than it appeared to the public, as Trump sought to establish a strong partnership with Putin even in light of the increasing diplomatic tensions between the two countries.

Despite the apparent hostility between the United States and Russia due to issues related to alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US elections, Trump believed that improving the relationship with Russia would open the door to greater cooperation in several areas such as combating terrorism and finding solutions to global crises, including the situation in Syria and Ukraine. Throughout his presidency, Trump has consistently spoken positively of Putin, which has angered his political opponents who have argued that this approach threatens US national security interests.

The book also reveals the nature of the private conversations that took place between Trump and Putin, as these conversations were far from traditional US diplomatic oversight. The details show that Trump was trying to avoid escalating tensions with Russia at all costs, and that he viewed Putin as a strategic partner who could help reshape the world order in a way that was more consistent with his political vision.

Although Trump tried to use this relationship to serve US interests, the book reveals that this closeness raised doubts within his administration, especially after investigations into Russian interference in the US elections began. Many of his advisers and administration officials believed that Trump was relying too much on Putin, which could open the door to Russian interference in US domestic affairs.

The book raises important questions about the impact of this relationship on US foreign policy decisions. For example, why did Trump not take a tough stance towards Russia regarding international crises? Did his sympathy for Putin influence his policies toward traditional U.S. allies, such as NATO and European countries?

One of the most interesting moments in the book is the author’s description of a secret meeting between Trump and Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit, where translators and diplomats were removed from the room, which is unusual for such meetings. The book argues that such secret meetings reinforced doubts about Trump’s true intentions and the extent of Putin’s influence over him.

Ultimately, the book shows that the relationship between Trump and Putin was not just a passing relationship, but part of Trump’s strategy to reshape American foreign policy in line with his vision that strengthening the relationship with Russia would serve American interests, even though this led to significant tensions with Congress and within his own administration. The book raises questions about what role this relationship might play in the future, and whether those policies will continue to influence U.S.-Russia relations after Trump’s term ends.
