Iraq’s National Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) confirmed on Tuesday that Baghdad's Tobchi Bridge is safe and poses no radioactive threat to the public. In an official statement, the NNRA dismissed social media reports as "exaggerations," clarifying that the situation is a "limited and fixed localized contamination" that cannot spread to the surrounding environment or residents.

The authority emphasized that specialized teams from the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission have been handling the site since Sunday, implementing standard safety protocols such as cordoning off the area with warning tapes. Officials reassured citizens that all measurements are being conducted according to national and international standards, and the site remains stable under full regulatory control.
