"Nuclear First": Trump Seeks Phased Agreement with Iran; Israeli Security Cabinet on High Alert

According to the Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv, the Trump administration is pushing for a "multi-stage" deal with Iran, prioritizing the nuclear file as the most urgent issue. The proposed plan suggests addressing the nuclear program in the first phase, while deferring negotiations on ballistic missiles and regional proxies to later stages.

This diplomatic shift has prompted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to convene emergency security meetings with his inner circle. While Israel is not a direct party to the talks, it remains deeply concerned about the outcome. Meanwhile, Tehran has responded cautiously; Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed rumors of an "interim deal," insisting that any negotiation must be a "joint effort" free from U.S. "dictates." A new round of talks is expected in Geneva within days.
