Pakistan is facing unprecedented floods, and it's pointing fingers at India for allegedly "deliberately manipulating" the flow of the Indus River, which has exacerbated the crisis. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and its manipulation of the river's flow without timely flood warnings have resulted in massive destruction.

Lack of Warnings Worsens the Disaster
The report stated that India's unilateral decision to suspend the agreement left Pakistan without the necessary advance warnings about exceptional water releases from dams across the border. This lack of timely warnings worsened the destruction caused by heavy monsoon rains, leading to extremely high flood levels in the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers.
Alleged Manipulation of River Flow
A report cited by some Pakistani media outlets indicated that since the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty on April 23, India has been manipulating the flow of the Chenab River. Initially, India reduced the flow, causing a water shortage, and then suddenly released a large volume of water, significantly worsening the floods downstream.
The few warnings Pakistan received in recent days were insufficient. Unlike previous practices, they did not include all reservoirs on the eastern rivers, leaving the country unprepared for the scale of the disaster.
