Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel on Sunday of attempting to spread "chaos and instability" in Iran by inciting "rioters." In an address on state television, Pezeshkian urged Iranians to distance themselves from violent elements, emphasizing that "protest is different from rioting," while asserting the government's commitment to solving economic crises and its willingness to "listen to the people."

Hardline Response and Regional Threats: Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, called for a firm crackdown on armed elements, describing popular economic grievances as "understandable" but distinct from organized sabotage. Simultaneously, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned U.S. President Donald Trump that any strike on Tehran would turn Israel and U.S. regional bases into "legitimate targets."
The Internal Scene: Protests, which began on December 28, 2025, sparked by the collapse of the Rial, have entered their third week. NetBlocks confirmed a nationwide internet blackout exceeding 60 hours. Meanwhile, Trump declared via "Truth Social" that "Iran is looking for freedom... the United States is ready to help," signaling a potential military or logistical intervention that has placed Israel on high alert.
