Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a chilling warning on Sunday, stating that any attack on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would be treated as a "declaration of total war" against the Iranian people. This defiant rhetoric follows President Donald Trump’s recent call for "new leadership in Iran" amid widespread anti-government protests that have rocked the nation since late December.

On the ground, "NetBlocks" confirmed a limited restoration of internet services after a near-total 10-day blackout designed to quell the unrest. While human rights groups accuse Tehran of using the blackout to mask a violent crackdown resulting in thousands of deaths, the government maintains it is fighting foreign-backed "riots." The partial return of Google and WhatsApp services comes as tensions between the Trump administration and the Islamic Republic reach a boiling point.
