Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to deliver a blunt ultimatum to Venezuela’s Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, warning that she could share the same fate as Nicolás Maduro if she fails to align with Washington’s demands. In a prepared testimony for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Rubio stated that Rodríguez is "well aware" of Maduro’s arrest by U.S. forces on January 3rd and reaffirmed that the Trump administration remains ready to use military force to ensure "maximum cooperation."

Rubio vigorously defended the New York-bound extraction of Maduro, labeling him a "convicted drug trafficker" rather than a legitimate head of state. He hailed the operation as a rare historical success achieved at minimal cost without American casualties. This hardline stance signals that the U.S. will not tolerate any deviation from its objectives in Caracas, placing the interim Venezuelan leadership under intense geopolitical pressure.
