The media team of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi announced that he will be laid to rest this Friday in the city of Bani Walid, next to his brother Khamis. The decision came after his supporters were prevented from holding the funeral in his hometown of Sirte, where local authorities imposed "inhumane" conditions, including a ban on displaying his photos or holding a wake longer than three days.

As the forensic examination in Zintan concludes, the 444 Brigade has deployed reinforcements, including the "Saika" battalion from Tripoli, to secure the burial site and manage the anticipated crowds. Meanwhile, Gaddafi’s lawyer, Marcel Ceccaldi, has demanded an independent international investigation into the assassination, which took place last Tuesday at his home in Zintan. The death of Saif al-Islam marks the end of a turbulent era for a man who remained a central, yet polarizing, figure in Libya’s decade-long struggle for power.
