"Scheme of Submission and Obedience": ElBaradei Delivers a Scathing Critique of Trump's Gaza Peace Plan

Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, former Vice President of Egypt and former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, launched a sharp and direct attack on the U.S. plan proposed by President Donald Trump for a ceasefire and hostage release in the Gaza Strip.

"ليست خطة سلام": محمد البرادعي يصف المقترح الأمريكي لوقف حرب غزة بـ "مخطط الخنوع والإذعان"

In a post published Monday on the "X" platform (formerly Twitter), ElBaradei described the initiative as a "scheme of submission and obedience." His comments followed the joint press conference held at the White House between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to announce the plan.

The former Egyptian Vice President expressed his profound sorrow over the situation in the region, stating: "I listened just now to the press conference at the White House regarding Gaza and Palestine. I was overcome with a feeling of deep sorrow for the current state and future of Palestine and indeed the entire Arab region."

ElBaradei concluded his fierce criticism by asserting: "This is not a peace plan, but rather a scheme of submission and obedience!"

It is worth noting that President Trump announced a roadmap for peace in Gaza on Monday, claiming he was "very close" to ending the nearly two-year war that has claimed tens of thousands of lives. Details of the plan for hostage release and the disarmament of "Hamas" were published during Trump's reception of Netanyahu. The U.S. President warned that he would give Israel "the green light" to continue military operations unless the Hamas movement agreed to the proposal.
