Sisi discusses with Macron ways to reduce escalation in the Middle East

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron today, Saturday, to discuss the ongoing escalation in the Middle East and ways to reduce escalation and enhance the path of calm.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the two presidents stressed the need for self-restraint and stopping the cycle of mutual targeting that has brought the entire Middle East region to the brink of a regional war that threatens the fate of the peoples of the entire region.
The two presidents also stressed the need to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stressed their support for Lebanese state institutions.
The two presidents also stressed the depth of strategic relations between the two countries and their keenness to continue cooperation in various fields, especially in the economy and investment, and to continue consultations on issues of common interest, in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries, Egypt and France.
