'Strike Deep': US Officials Float Arming Kyiv with Tomahawk Missiles to Hit Russian Depth; Kremlin Dismisses Threat as 'No Magic Weapon'

The political arena has witnessed a significant escalation in the United States' tone regarding the war in Ukraine, with Washington hinting at the possibility of providing Kyiv with weapons capable of targeting Russian depth.

"الضرب في العمق": واشنطن تدرس تزويد أوكرانيا بصواريخ توماهوك لضرب روسيا والكرملين يرد بـ "لا شيء سحري"

In remarks made yesterday, Sunday, on Fox News, US Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg confirmed that the scenario of Kyiv using American weapons to strike Russian territory is a plausible assumption. Responding to a direct question about whether President Donald Trump had authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles against Russia, Kellogg stated: "Based on what Trump has said, and Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the answer is yes." The Envoy explicitly urged Kyiv: "Use the capabilities to strike deep. There are no safe havens."

In a related development, Vice President JD Vance also told Fox News that Washington is considering the sale of long-range "Tomahawk" missiles to European allies for eventual delivery to Ukraine. Vance indicated that Washington is looking into "a number of European demands," and the President will make the "final decision in the supreme interest of the United States."

Kremlin Dismisses Threats: No Magical Antidote for Kyiv

On the other side, Moscow was quick to downplay these threats, attempting to minimize the significance of any weapons Kyiv might receive. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said during a media briefing today, Monday: "There is no antidote that can solve the situation on the front for the Kyiv regime. There is no magic weapon, whether it is Tomahawk missiles or other missiles. They change nothing."

These US statements come amid a noticeable and sudden shift in the American stance. After months of apparent hesitation, President Trump said last week that Ukraine could retake all its territories from Russia "and even beyond." Furthermore, Vice President Vance stated that Trump's patience with Moscow is running out, while Secretary of State Rubio called on his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to stop the "slaughter" in Ukraine.
