The city of El-Obeid faced a total power blackout on Sunday following a drone strike targeting its main power station. The Sudanese Electricity Company confirmed that the attack caused a massive fire in the generator hall, knocking the facility offline. This escalation comes as the Sudanese Army and Joint Forces make strategic gains in the "Kazgail" axis, attempting to clear a supply route to the besieged city of "Dilling," which is currently grappling with severe famine and a dire humanitarian crisis.

While the army reported intercepting additional drones targeting the "Kenana" airbase, the impact on civilian infrastructure in El-Obeid threatens to paralyze hospitals and water stations. UN agencies report that over 15,000 people have fled the Kordofan region in the past week alone. The conflict, entering its third year in 2026, continues to devastate the nation's vital links between Darfur and Khartoum, further deepening what is already described as the world's worst displacement crisis.
