Tehran Rejects Truce: Foreign Minister Araghchi Vows to Continue the Fight and Warns Against Ground Invasion

In a defiant stance following the appointment of the new Supreme Leader, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told NBC News on Sunday that Iran officially rejects any calls for a ceasefire in the Middle East. Araghchi emphasized that Tehran is committed to "continuing the fight for its people and security," labeling new truce proposals as "unacceptable" and ineffective, citing the breach of the 12-day ceasefire that ended last year’s hostilities.

طهران ترفع سقف التحدي: عراقجي يرفض وقف إطلاق النار ويتوعد القوات الأمريكية بـ"الإبادة"

Russian Intelligence and Strategic Coordination Araghchi confirmed that cooperation with Russia is ongoing and multifaceted. This statement aligns with intelligence reports suggesting that Moscow is providing Tehran with critical data on U.S. troop locations and the movement of American warships in the region. Regarding the strikes that hit neighboring Gulf states, Araghchi clarified that Iran does not intentionally target its neighbors, but rather the "U.S. assets and bases located on their territories." He noted that President Masoud Pezeshkian had already offered apologies to regional nations for the casualties in Kuwait, the UAE, and Oman.

Missile Capabilities and the "Ground Trap" Warning The Foreign Minister dismissed President Donald Trump’s claims that Iran was nearing the development of missiles capable of hitting the U.S. mainland as "disinformation," asserting that Tehran deliberately limits its missile range to 2,000 kilometers. However, he issued a grim warning regarding any potential U.S. special forces deployment on Iranian soil: "We have brave soldiers waiting for any enemy who enters our land to fight them, kill them, and destroy them." This rhetoric highlights Iran’s readiness for a brutal ground defense against any surgical raids targeting its nuclear or military assets.
