The Recognition Train for Palestine Expands: Belgium and Monaco Join the List

Belgium and the Principality of Monaco have officially announced their recognition of the State of Palestine, joining a growing list of Western nations that have taken the same step. This announcement follows similar moves by major countries like the UK, France, Canada, and Australia.

The Belgian and Monegasque Positions


During his speech at the "Two-State Solution" conference in New York, chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever confirmed that his country officially recognizes the State of Palestine. He explained that this step is consistent with international law and supports the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for self-determination.

For his part, Prince Albert II of Monaco announced his country's recognition of the State of Palestine under international law during his address at the same conference. The Prince emphasized the urgent need for a lasting and balanced solution to the conflict, calling for the release of all hostages and the disarmament of Hamas.
