In a strategic diplomatic move aimed at reshaping regional security balances, the Arab Republic of Egypt called on Sunday, March 15, 2026, for the immediate formation of a "Joint Arab Force." Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized that this initiative is vital to ensure the protection of Arab nations' resources and to safeguard national security against future threats, particularly amid the unprecedented military escalation in the region.

Egyptian-Jordanian Coordination: Post-War Vision The call was made during a high-level phone conversation between Abdelatty and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi. Both ministers stressed the "extreme importance" of developing a clear vision for regional security arrangements once the current conflict concludes. Cairo expressed its categorical condemnation of attacks targeting the security and stability of fraternal Arab states, rejecting any pretexts used to justify violations of international law that threaten to plunge the region into "total chaos."
Diplomacy as the Sole Path The two ministers underscored that an immediate halt to military operations and prioritizing dialogue are the "only options" to spare the region’s people from the horrors of a prolonged conflict. They agreed to maintain close coordination between Cairo and Amman, viewing the "Joint Arab Force" as a functional security mechanism that would provide a sustainable environment for stability and deter any foreign interventions affecting Arab sovereignty.
