President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday night, March 29, 2026, that Iran has agreed to allow 20 oil tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning. Trump described the move as a "gesture of respect" and indicated that Tehran is finally yielding to the U.S. 15-point peace plan, stating, "They agreed to most of the points. Why wouldn’t they? The end of the war may be near".

Leadership Crisis in Tehran:
Trump suggested that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in a "major bind" after being seriously injured. He claimed the Iranian leadership is "desperate" for a deal following the systematic destruction of their missile stockpiles and defense industrial base. Speaking to Israel's Channel 14, Trump emphasized that coordination with PM Netanyahu is "at its peak" as the U.S. moves closer to ending Iran’s "nuclear blackmail".
