U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly instructed his national security team to ensure that any potential military action against Iran is "swift and decisive," aimed at crippling the regime without triggering a prolonged conflict. According to NBC News, while Trump seeks a surgical blow, his advisors remain cautious about the regime's resilience and the potential for a massive Iranian retaliation.
Amid ongoing domestic unrest in Iran, Trump also discussed the possibility of regime collapse, questioning whether opposition leader Reza Pahlavi could garner enough domestic support to lead the nation. In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Trump against repeating "past mistakes," referring to the June strikes on nuclear sites. While Araghchi noted that "diplomacy is better than war," the U.S. remains on high alert, with Trump warning of "great anger" if executions of protesters resume.
