A senior Emirati official stated on Wednesday that Israel's push to annex territory in the occupied West Bank is a "red line" for the UAE. The official clarified that such a move would severely undermine the Abraham Accords, which were intended to foster regional stability and cooperation.

In her remarks, Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, said that the UAE viewed the accords from the beginning as a means to "continue to support the Palestinian people and their legitimate aspiration for an independent state." She added that "proposals to annex parts of the West Bank, which are said to be under discussion within the Israeli government, are part of an effort that aims, in the words of an Israeli minister, to 'bury the idea of a Palestinian state'."
Nusseibeh considered that annexation "will severely undermine the vision and spirit of the accords, end regional integration efforts, and alter the broad consensus on the path this conflict must take—that is, two states living side by side in peace, prosperity, and security." These statements affirm the UAE's clear position that a comprehensive peaceful resolution is based on the two-state solution principle and that any unilateral action would jeopardize peace efforts in the region.
