US Reduces Personnel at Qatar Air Base; Iran Vows to Strike Regional Bases if Attacked

The United States has reduced its personnel at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and other key regional facilities as a "precautionary measure" amid soaring tensions. The Qatari government confirmed the move was a response to the current regional instability. This follows President Donald Trump’s warning of "very firm action" if Iranian authorities execute anti-government protesters.

Regional Warnings and Broken Diplomacy: A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran has informed regional neighbors—including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Turkey—that U.S. bases on their soil will be targeted if the U.S. attacks Iran. Meanwhile, direct communications between Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff have been suspended. In Iran, the judiciary has pledged "swift trials" for detainees, with human rights groups warning of a "killing spree." Reports indicate nearly 2,000 deaths and over 16,000 arrests, as horrific footage from Tehran's forensics centers shows hundreds of bodies awaiting burial.
