All polling stations in Syria have closed their ballot boxes, marking the end of the voting process for the election of the new People's Council (Parliament), which began on Sunday morning. The vote counting phase has now started, with official results anticipated in the coming hours.

Counting Underway, Awaiting Official Announcement
Monitoring sources reported that the process of counting votes from the electoral bodies' members is continuing in several key centers, particularly in Damascus and Aleppo. These sources indicated that preliminary results have started to emerge in some Syrian regions.
The final results of the election and the names of the new members of the Syrian People's Council are expected to be announced during an official press conference to be held no later than Monday or Tuesday.
Intense Security Measures to Secure the Process
The election followed an announcement by the Syrian Ministry of Interior on Sunday morning that its personnel had initiated an extensive security deployment across all governorates to secure the polling centers during the election for the new 2025 term.
The Ministry confirmed via the "X" platform that security units implemented the approved plan to secure the perimeter of the electoral centers, organize citizen movement, and ensure smooth traffic flow. The goal was to enable voters to reach the ballot boxes easily and safely, maintaining the electoral process in an atmosphere of calm and order.
