The United States is preparing to launch a new phase of military operations related to Venezuela in the coming days, coinciding with the US military deploying more forces to the Caribbean Sea. The Trump administration is escalating its pressure on the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Military Escalation and US Objectives
Force Build-up: A military build-up has been underway in the Caribbean for months. The largest US Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, arrived in the area on November 16 with its strike group, joining at least seven other warships, a nuclear submarine, and F-35 jets.
Operation Goal: US officials stated that these operations are likely the first part of a new move targeting Maduro. A senior administration official confirmed that Trump is ready to use "every element of US power" to stop the flow of drugs and bring those responsible to justice.
Options Under Review: Sources told Reuters that options under review include an attempt to overthrow Maduro, who denies any links to drug trafficking.
Aviation Warning: The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned major airlines of a "potential hazardous situation" when flying over Venezuela, urging caution.
