The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, today, Monday, called for an immediate end to the bloodshed in Sudan, expressing his grief over the murder of Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail in the city of El Fasher.

WHO's Plea: Ghebreyesus posted on X: "WHO mourns Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail and demands an end to violence against healthcare workers." He continued, stating: "The bloodshed in Sudan must stop."
Details of Dr. Adam Ibrahim's Murder
Circumstances: The non-governmental Sudan Doctors Network reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) field-executed Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail in El Fasher last Wednesday.
Tribute: The El Fasher Resistance Committees praised the late doctor for dedicating his life to serving his community "during the siege, providing care and aid to all in need, until he was struck by treacherous bullets."
Situation in El Fasher and RSF Control
Seizure and Violations: The RSF took control of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, on October 26. Local and international organizations confirmed that massacres against civilians occurred in the city, amid warnings of a possible geographic division of the country.
Hemedti's Admission: On October 29, RSF Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo ("Hemedti") admitted that "violations" had been committed by his forces in El Fasher, claiming that investigation committees had been formed.
The RSF currently controls all five states of the Darfur region (except for some northern parts of North Darfur), while the Sudanese Army controls most areas of the remaining 13 states, including the capital, Khartoum.
