Zelensky at MSC 2026: Putin is a "Slave to War," Russian Strikes Left "Zero" Power Plants Unscathed

At the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, President Volodymyr Zelensky painted a dire picture of Ukraine's energy crisis, stating that not a single power plant remains undamaged by Russian missiles and drones. Zelensky delivered a blistering critique of Vladimir Putin, calling him a "slave to war" who fancies himself a "Czar" but is ultimately driven by a destructive obsession. He urged Western allies to fast-track air defense deliveries, noting that interceptors often arrive "at the very last moment" to save lives.

Zelensky’s speech serves as a prelude to high-stakes Geneva talks (Feb 17-18) mediated by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Amid reports of U.S. pressure for territorial concessions, Zelensky warned against repeating the 1938 Munich Agreement "delusion," asserting that partitioning Ukraine would not bring lasting peace but would only invite further Russian aggression.
